Listen to me now, believe me later on. The much-anticipated Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder fight is better served for 2019. Most of us should have known that this fight would not happen in 2018. As soon as Gennady Golovkin and Canelo Alvarez resolved their differences to revive their fight in September, fates were sealed.
4 harsh realities for Joshua and Wilder fans:
Hearn wanted to wait until 2019. He played team Wilder.
$15 million for Wilder in the U.K was fair. PPV prices are different.
$50 million to Joshua was never real.
Joshua and Wilder are not afraid to fight each other.

Fight fans can skip right on by all of the social media huffing and puffing rhetoric. Neither one of these two big ass dudes are scared of one another. They get paid handsomely to punch, and get punched in the face. And, they’ve been doing it their whole lives. It makes for good radio and sports talk, but the reality is professional boxers of this caliber aren’t, “scared.”
Yes, there is a lot of ridiculous posturing and bullshit politics that were thrown in front of fans as obstacles and distractions. Such as, the WBA “ordering” Anthony Joshua to fight Alexander Povetkin. The same WBA who allowed Floyd Mayweather to come and go as he pleased and never fulfill his mandatory to Keith Thurman for like two years. Yeah, that WBA.
Cracks me up that people are having meltdowns over Joshua-Wilder not happening next. You guys really REALLY thought it was happening next? Come on! Stop playing. The fight did get a ton of publicity ans hype and visibility tho. Lots to build on. Stay woke. #boxing

It was, nonetheless, pretty clear all along that once Anthony Joshua and Eddie Hearn solidified logistics of the fight in the UK, that it was pretty unlikely that we would see the highly anticipated heavyweight showdown in 2018.
Even if we were, what was the possibility YOU REALLY were going to watch it? Midday Saturday in September while LSU, Auburn, Bama, Ole Miss, and USC versus Texas devour your ENTIRE day for FREE playing football. Meanwhile, Mexican fans commit their day to the Canelo versus GGG fight.
Face it, we were ALL duped from the word go. The only disappointment here is how easily triggered the public was over the announcement that the fight was off. Also of note, Anthony Joshua’s mouthpiece isn’t as fly as Deontay Wilder’s.
I knew I smelt pussy but damn @anthonyfjoshua I didn’t know the odor was that strong you coward ass bitch. Had the world waiting for 3 months playing games just for this moment. You’re not a true champion‼️ you’re just a weak minded coward that’s holding hard metal. #Facts

The biggest heavyweight bout in years taking place in Wembley in April 2019, is best for all of us. There should not be ANY excuses then. The world is doing nothing but enjoying regular season NBA and the first week of Major League Baseball. The build up has been achieved. The “bad blood” has more time to boil over the pot. Joshua and Wilder both get chances to get a tune-up in this fall for larger audiences and flex. The money for the pay per view should very well be promoted and maximized to its fullest potential in spring of 2019.
Now if they screw the pooch on that one….then there should be real outrage.
Just a little perspective here. Chill on all your outrage and drawing battle lines in the sand. If you want to blame anyone, blame Golden Boy for being quicker to land prime pay per view real estate.
