Weekend Review–June 3, 2018

Your weekend review for May 28th-June 3rd by Souled Out Sports.

Although no one asked for it in the first place, the Roseanne reboot was abruptly cancelled. Turns out, to the surprise of very few in our current political landscape, Roseanne Barr is a foul-mouth, trolling, asshole, racist. She tweeted about it, which usually isn’t an awesome idea when you’re racist.  It’s also not an awesome idea when you work for ABC, a Disney company.

She went on to say her comments were just jokes. She then apologized. Hell, she might have said she was hacked. Then she blamed Ambien.

Ambien was NOT here for that shit.

Neither was ABC. As the social media backlash surmounted from the general public and colleagues, even a resignation of a show staff writer, ABC cancelled the show.

First Amendment champions who oddly don’t carry that same energy into Colin Kaepernick’s peaceful first amendment demonstration that’s not racist, were angered. You know how racism go, though.

The biggest news of the week of course was the Drake-Pusha T beef, which Drake “hood-officially” has lost due to his lack of a response. Resident slavery advocate, Kanye West, has also declared the beef as, “dead.”

Kanye might have labeled the beef dead however, after J. Prince, mentioned the beef as, “disrespectful.” For those who are not familiar with J. Prince’s work, I’ll allow you to it to use google freely and do your own research.  As someone who has a family and values life, the “no snitching” rule will go into effect in regards of telling you what kind of badass J. Prince is. He could be reading for all we know.  And, ya’ll not bout to get me jammed up. Just know that J. Prince told Diddy to back up off Drake one time too and said back up off happened. ‘Nuff said.

As it stands, the beef is over and Pusha T is the winner.

LaVar Ball made a splash back into the news cycle with a quick anthem hot take to be taken out of context by TMZ.

Many were quick to buy into click bait and assume Ball was on the side of MAGA’s best, the NFL, on anthem policy. In actuality, Ball was more along the sides of the league doing what it wants to do.  And, sending a message that if you want it your way, do it the ball way, and start your own.

In other news:

  • Tekashi 69 trolls Chief Keef. Chief Keef gets “shot at” in New York. Tekashi trolls some more from Los Angeles. Keef shows up in Los Angeles. Let’s hope it doesn’t escalate to more violence.
  • Ja Rule finds his twitter password again and trolls 50 Cent. King Petty 50 handled that for the rest of us.
  • Kanye West dropped a new album. And did it real big gangster style from Wyoming to host a listening party event.
  • Taylor Swift gave a passionate speech at a concert in Chicago to celebrate pride month and her new angle to culture vulture.
  • Steph Curry is a winner on the court but his shoe game is still hot garbage juice.

That concludes the Weekend Review
